The courts seem to understand that something we call a
half-truth is still a lie, therefore they ask the witness "to tell the
truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." Our attempts to do
that -- to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is
silent -- has tended to separate us from other religious groups. It is
tough not to let feelings get in the way. A person who feels "guided"
must remember that there are at least two sources of guidance ... God's
desires, and our own selfish desires (which Satan really knows how to use).
Therefore whatever we do or teach must be tested against the only reliable
source of guidance: God's Word.
Because of our desire to follow God's plan, you may notice some things
missing that you would expect to see in other worship services (those things
which are not approved of in the Scriptures) and you will probably find a
few things included that others have decided to leave out or reserve for
special occasions.
